Eligibility Criteria for Anglia Ruskin University Sport Scholarship 2025

- meet the entry requirements for your chosen course
- be a UK, EU or international student
- be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate taught course at our Cambridge, Chelmsford, or ARU Peterborough campuses
- be competing at the regional or national level to qualify for our Elite Level scholarship
- be competing at the national or international level to qualify for our Podium Level scholarship
- be able to demonstrate that you’ll have a significant impact on the performance of the sports team you join at ARU (if applicable) and/or on BUCS points.
Foundation, extended degree apprenticeships, distance learning degree programmes, and/or CPD and short courses are excluded.
Interview Dates and Process
Once you submit your Sport Scholarship application by email to crofton.alexander@aru.ac.uk, the application is received and reviewed by a panel of ARU staff. The panel assesses your application based on the details and supporting documents you provide, such as your sporting achievements and potential impact on ARU’s sports teams. You may also be asked to attend an interview or submit a physiotherapist’s report to support your application.

There are two levels of scholarship, ranging from £1,400 up to £12,500 per year.
How to Apply
To apply for the ARU Sport Scholarship, interested students should email the Clubs and Performance Sport Manager, Crofton Alexander, at crofton.alexander@aru.ac.uk. Applications are open year-round and must be submitted before the start of your course. Be prepared to provide supporting documentation, such as evidence of your sporting achievements, and you may be required to attend an interview or submit a report from a physiotherapist or your previous team.
